Marsh Front Home - James Island

1666 Back Creek

Serene Marsh front living nestled among A canopy of grand oaks

You won’t need to go on vacation once you live in this home, you’ll be on permanent relaxation mode.

Spend your evenings enjoying a glass of wine on your back porch, watch the sun setting through the leaves of the trees or enjoy a fire overlooking the marsh on the chilly nights.

Owned by a professional executive chef, the kitchen is professional grade and with a floor plan designed to entertain, you’ll create as many memories in this home as the current owners, who are very sad to leave but are downsizing since becoming empty nesters.

why I love about my home - By the seller

Why did you buy this house ?

We loved the lot, it’s on the marsh, it’s so big, we loved the Grand Oaks, the privacy & security of the cul-de-sac, so we bought the lot and built our dream home.

Why did you buy in this area ?

It’s such a quiet area, we call it “hidden oasis of tranquility in a historic preserve “. You have to know it’s here to find it and oh the views ! Where else can you get these views ?

We both work downtown and it’s only fifteen minutes to downtown Charleston and even less Folly Beach.

What are your favorite things about your house ?

The back porch, it’s huge !! 500 square foot. We spend so much of our time on the back porch, we eat our meals out there, spend our family time there and every time we entertain, it’s the hub of the party. We also love our kitchen (since I’m a chef) and those Grand Oaks are priceless.

I can drive and store our 21’ boat directly under the protection of our back porch( Protected) and we loved being on a cul-de-sac when we were raising our kids.

What will you miss when you move ?

All of it!

Have you done any improvements to it ?

New HVAC in 2016 with 10 year warranty in place

Exterior & Interior Paint

Life time functional shutters

Is it a social neighborhood ?

It’s very private no one bothers you, yet everyone greets and salutes & chats on the street. The neighbors are great people and there is an annual oyster roast too.

What’s your favorite place in the area for coffee/breakfast/lunch/dinner ?

We got to Folly beach for everything !! Within ten minutes, we’re at the Edge of America with its laid back beach life.

We really like Black Magic, Edison, Smokey Oak, Aji Asian Bistro and Baguette Magic

How is the traffic for your commute ?

We both work downtown and since the Camp Road has been rerouted, it is heaven !!! It’s 15 mins to downtown and the same for the home commute - guaranteed.

Anything else you’d like to say ?

Buy it you’ll love it !

If you’re thinking of selling your home, read my guide to SELLING YOUR HOME that tells you how to properly prepare your home to get the top dollar in the shortest amount of time.

Darragh has helped us purchase two homes - one when we moved from Connecticut and knew nothing about the area and the second as an investment property. There is no one who works harder or knows the Charleston area more than Darragh! He always gave unbiased opinions of properties and never pushed us to like something that wasn’t right for us. He also has great vetted connections around town and suggested many different contractors, painters, lawyers, etc that we worked with and loved! Darragh is so hands-on, but never aggressive or “salesman-y.” The relationship isn’t over once the home has been purchased. He really genuinely cares about how you live successfully in that space and if you’re happy, then he’s happy!
