Why I bought the condo
I was looking to downsize due to travel for work & have low maintenance. Proximity was important, I wanted to be close to a beach and downtown but also wanted a nice place to live with the least amount of upkeep. This condo checked all of those boxes, plus some!
Why I bought in this area
I wanted to be both close to downtown and a beach but loved the James Island side of town vs Mt. Pleasant. This condo is 10 min to Folly and 10 min to downtown. It’s in a gated community with the advantages of a condominium community: beautiful pool, clubhouse, fitness center, and walking trails!
My favorite thing about my house
I love the open floor plan with hardwood floors, the fireplace for the winter months, and screened porch / balcony for grilling out! The pool is also a major plus when you want to be outside and, in the water, but don’t want the hassle of the beach that day.
What will I miss when I move
Being able to sit by the pool with a cocktail after long work days! I’ll also miss the ability to workout at the clubhouse fitness center when I don’t feel like hitting the gym.
If not selling it, any changes?
The only thing I’d change if I weren’t selling would possibly be to update the paint colors.

The Retreat is a wonderful, gated community close to Folly Beach and downtown Charleston with walking/running trails, a large clean pool, clubhouse, fitness center, outdoor grilling area, is dog/ family friendly, and has a great proximity on the island. It’s only 10 minutes to Folly Beach and 10 minutes to downtown Charleston. James Island has great restaurants (Mondo’s), all within 5 minutes from my house.

I’ve loved my time at the condo and hate to leave but I’m getting married and it’s time to start a new chapter with my fiancé in our new house. I hope that if you make this your home that you’ll enjoy it and the neighborhood as much as I have!
